Multi-Purpose Community Centres (MPCC) of which the number of centres have reached 35 in Southern Anatolian Region in the last fifteen years, are one of the projects which take into account social dimensions of the implications aiming at development policies of SAP project. Those centres are established for the purpose of empowerment of women living in slum neighbourhoods, small city centres and central villages of which relatively poorer and deprived households are settled and which depict strongly traditional and patriarchal social structure. This article aims at understanding how and to what extent MPCCs influence women's perceptions in increasing gender awareness in such kind of a traditional structure. In this context, a sociological and comparative evaluation is intended between the groups of women who have and have not participated in MPCC programmes. In this study, MPCC's place and impact level is being analyzed in demographical characteristics, social and cultural structures and gender awareness of women.
