This research aims to discover how women's activists in Turkey define and perform lobbying during the European Union accession process. The focus of this research is to understand the lobbying strategies women's activists used for the amendments of the Turkish Penal Code. In this respect, this article investigates the liberal and socialist feminists groups in Turkey and their lobbying activities. The different strategies and ways of lobbying done by different women's groups is one of the striking findings of this research. Another important finding of this research was how the European Union accession process was defined and perceived by the women's activists groups interviewed. It was found that they saw the European Union as a tool, an encouraging factor but not a mobilizing cause in their achievements.
